The Album Leaf - The Outer Banks (Live)
In 1998, multi-instrumentalist Jimmy LaVelle (of Tristeza and GoGoGo Airheart, among others) formed The Album Leaf as a solo project. After making a name for himself by opening for bands such as The American Analog Set and Sigur Ros, The Album Leaf was signed to Sub Pop Records in 2004. His sound has a uniquely cinematic feel, with hints of electronica and modern indie rock. This video is an amazing live performance of “The Outer Banks”, from his Sub Pop debut In A Safe Place. LaVelle is the one with long hair and the leaf tattoo, playing keyboards. In addition, he can occasionally be seen playing keyboards with Sigur Ros, and also plays in the band Magnetic Morning with members of Swervedriver and Interpol.
